On december 22 we had a Christmas dinner with the current students. For the first time we invited their parents as well. Since an ex-student who is now a parent made us realise that going to a UWC is an adventure for the students, but it equally is an adventure in its own kind for the parents! It happened to be a wonderful meeting for everyone.
Students from all four colleges were present: Jana from India (MUWCI), Bruno from Costa Rica (UWCCR), Basiel from the US (AHUWC) and Sybille from Hong Kong (LPCUWC). A very enthusiastic bunch of students full of stories, energy and ideas. Although all from a different college, ties were very strong and a general UWC spirit was clearly present.
The parents found it very useful to meet up together. The first steps towards a parent network were taken and parents have made the commitment to be present at our next infoday. This to be able to answer questions from parents of new candidates.
